Brenda Diane Dikeman

Brenda Diane Dikeman was born August 5, 1952, in Lubbock, Texas, to Earl Lionel Franklin and Alice Jerita Jones. She died Monday, March 23, 2020, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 67 years. Diane was reared and educated in Idalou, Texas, and was a graduate of Idalou High School. She had spent some of her working life with J.C. Penney, but primarily was a wedding coordinator making sure many couples had a beautiful wedding day. She was an excellent seamstress and could make anything with a needle, thread, and some fabric. In fact, she made her own wedding dress when she married Gary “Butch” Dikeman in 1988. They have made their home in the Talala, Oklahoma, area since that time. She loved to go snow skiing and would even sew some bright bling on her ski jacket. Diane was known for her witty sense of humor and could always make everyone in the room laugh. She particularly enjoyed her role of Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those she leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include: Her husband; Gary “Butch” Dikeman, of the home Daughter; Heather Turnbill, of Boerne, Texas Stepson; Erich Dikeman, of Talala Stepdaughter; Hayley Dikeman, of Haskell, Oklahoma Grandchildren; Trevor Barnes Josie, Brady, and Allison Turnbill Allysse and Makayla Dikeman Great grandchildren; Hattie Turnbill and Hazel Barnes Sisters; Frankie Armstrong, of Lubbock, Texas Amy Connor, of Weatherford, Texas Brother; Paul Franklin, of Lubbock, Texas Mother; Jerita Ivy, of Weatherford, Texas She was preceded in death by her dad, Earl Franklin, Jr., son, Brian Barnes, and a brother, Jerry Franklin. A visitation with family receiving friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2020, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Due to the current restrictions on gatherings, a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Honoring her as casket bearers will be Brady Turnbill, Trevor Barnes, Rick Turnbill, and Erich Dikeman. Final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery in Talala, Oklahoma.
