George Allen Smallwood Jr

George Allen Smallwood, Jr., was born May 7, 1952, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to George Allen Smallwood, Sr., and Margaret Helen Hairgrove Smallwood. He died Monday, July 29, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 72 years. George completed his secondary education in Tulsa and graduated from East Central High School, Class of 1971. During high school, he excelled in track and received a college track scholarship. George spent most of his professional career as a maintenance supervisor, including over 38 years with Lafarge Cement. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes, including spending time boating, fishing, and building and flying remote-controlled airplanes. He loved the ocean, and especially enjoyed his trips with his wife to Surfside Beach and South Padre Island. George dearly loved his family and was particularly fond of his role as “Poppy” and “Papa”. Those he leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include: Wife; Waynette Smallwood Daughters; Amanda Naifeh and husband Kirk Kari Hollon and husband Josh Stepdaughters; Brandy Burnett and husband Daniel Leah Kline and husband Derik Stepsons; Benjamin Bauer and wife Stacy Zach Bauer and wife Beth Bonus daughter; Bethany Green and husband John Grandchildren; Amelia Naifeh, Madeline Naifeh, Alexander Naifeh, Nash Naifeh, Margeaux Naifeh-Bowen, Isaiah Givens, Kinley Hollon, Dylan and Quinton Simms, Brianna Aguilar and Florencia, Samuel and Hope Bauer, Jasmyn, Caroline, Myra, and Simon Kline Isaiah and Ava Bauer Eliza and Kaylie Green Brothers; Hal Smallwood and wife Janet Ralph Smallwood Sister; Stormy Powers Mother; Margaret Helen Smallwood He was preceded in death by his father, George Smallwood, Sr. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August, 2024, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Ralph Smallwood officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Kirk Naifeh, Chase Smallwood, Shawn Smallwood, John Green, Hal Smallwood, and Isaiah Givens. Final resting place will be at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
