Helen Louise Harrell

Helen Louise Ward-Harrell was born June 7, 1946, in Roswell, New Mexico. She passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, May 30, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Earl Ward, her devoted mother, Alberta Louise Ward, and her cherished son, Ronald T. Harrell. Helen was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and family values that will be treasured by all who knew her. She is survived by her two brothers: LeeRoy Ward and his wife Sam, and Allen Ward, all of Catoosa, Oklahoma. Her children, Alberta Oates and husband Vince Oates, of Sperry, Oklahoma, and Earl Harrell of Catoosa, Oklahoma, who will continue to carry forward her love and spirit. Helen’s greatest Joy came from her grandchildren whom she adored: Courtney Ballard and husband Jerry, of Pryor, Oklahoma Victoria Field and husband Chris, of Bixby, Oklahoma Randy Harrell and wife Kayte, of Catoosa, Oklahoma Madysen Harrell of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Lauren Bartmier and husband Brett, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Maranda Bridgeman and husband Josh, of Mounds, Oklahoma She was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren: Landon, Leighton, Landry, Sterling, Oaklynn, Gracelyn, Olivia, Henley, Jorgen, and Hagan, who brought her endless pride and joy. And a host of nieces and nephews Helen worked as devoted school bus driver for Catoosa Public Schools for over 35 years. She enjoyed a good book, a day of shopping, and most of all, spoiling her grandbabies. Helen will be remembered for her unwavering love of family and the need to say whatever’s on her mind. She leaves behind a legacy of grace and strength that will live on in all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Weston Baker officiating. Final resting place with be next to her son at Dick Duck Cemetery in Catoosa, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Helen’s memory to Porta Caeli House, 2440 North Harvard Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74115.
