Janice Alliene Hall

Janice Alliene (Reed) Hall was born February 19, 1943, in Elk City, Kansas, to Sammie Fowler Reed and Leatha Alliene McCarty. She died Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years. Janice grew up in Elk City, Kansas, graduating with the Elk City High School Class of 1961. She married her high school sweetheart, Gene Hall, on November 1, 1961. Janice and Gene made their home in Owasso, Oklahoma, where they raised their family. Janice spent her professional career working with Owasso Public Schools as a secretary in the athletics office and the administration office. Janice lived out a life of faith through her commitment to Christ as demonstrated by her love for Scripture and faithful prayer life. She was a member of Owasso Silver Creek Church of the Nazarene where she taught children and adult Sunday School classes. She also served on the Northeast Oklahoma District Church of the Nazarene Advisory Board and Missions Council. Janice was dedicated in every way to her family and took her final breath as they gathered around her to sing It Is Well with My Soul. Those she leaves behind who hold a lifetime of memories include her husband of over 64 years, Gene, of the home; three children: Brenda Brinson and husband Scott, of Edmond; Lorne Hall and wife Lori, of Oklahoma City; and Greg Hall and wife Frisa, of Edmond; five grandchildren: Matthew Styers of Houston, Texas; Elise (Hall) Taylor, husband John Paul, and daughters Caroline and Sophie of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Molly (Hall) Grenier and husband Dayne, of Oklahoma City; Lakin Hall, wife MaryKate, and children Teddy and Heidi of Oklahoma City; and Preston Hall, wife Kate, and daughter Penny of Fayetteville, Arkansas; a sister, Berneeda Moses, of Tulsa; a brother, James Reed and wife Diane, of Elk City, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews, including Tori (Johnson) Pilger and Beth (Johnson) Todd who spent many weekends and summers with Janice and her family as they were growing up. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Sammie and Alliene Reed, and her sister, Kay Johnson. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Silver Church of the Nazarene in Owasso with Pastor Brian Loderhose officiating.
