Julia Allie Fruechting

Julia “Judy” Allie (Strain) Fruechting was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 31, 1940, the eldest child of John Strain and Alnown (Nothstine) Strain. Judy graduated from Owasso High School in Owasso, Oklahoma in 1958, where she met her best friend for life, Carl Wayne Fruechting. They were married on September 4,1958 and during their marriage were blessed by the births of their six children. She passed from this life on February 9, 2026 in Tulsa at the age of 85 years. Judy devoted her life to being a homemaker as they moved over the years from Oklahoma to California, back to Oklahoma, on to Arkansas, and finally home again to Oklahoma. In 1986, they moved to Webbers Falls, Oklahoma, and in 2007, Judy and Carl moved to Gore, Oklahoma where she continued nurturing her family by spending her days sharing stories, offering gentle guidance, and teaching her grandchildren the importance of family. In 2018, she joined Carl on one last Grand adventure, settling into their lakeside home in Grove, Oklahoma, until Carl’s passing in 2022, after 63 years of marriage. Since then, Judy has divided her time between "the lake house” and the home of daughter Carla and son-in-law Bill in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, delighting in visits from grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Judy loved stories: telling them, hearing them, and passing them down to family and friends. She shared superstitious anecdotes about black cats and opening umbrellas indoors, as well as family lore and wisdom shared by her mother Alnown, such as “eyes are the window to the soul.” Judy’s beautiful green eyes reflected her gentle spirit, as did her green thumb and delight in simple joys: boat rides, sweet desserts and ice cream, reading good books, and fresh melon enjoyed in its season. She loved all types of flowers and lovingly tended her plants, both inside and outside, over the years. In November of 2025, Judy earned the title of international traveler as she sailed on her first cruise with daughters Julia and Jill, who convinced her she would love it. Above all else, Judy loved deeply: her family and the Lord were the true center of her life. Her days were deeply rooted in her Christian faith and her family said she could quote scripture better than anyone. Judy spent hours listening to gospel music, reading her devotionals, and watching sermons from the churches attended by her children and grandchildren. She read her Bible daily, often for hours at a time. Judy never let a birthday, anniversary, Valentine’s Day or Christmas pass without sending a DaySpring greeting card to her loved ones signed “Love, Grandma Judy.” When asked what her favorite things were, her answer was always the same: the color green and being surrounded by family. Judy’s story now continues in every gathering around a table, every scripture remembered, every card written with love, and in every memory made richer by her presence. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Fruechting; her parents, John Strain and Alnown (Nothstine) Strain; her in-laws Ralph and Elsie Fruechting; her brother, James Strain; and brothers-in-law Larry Loffer, Ralph Fruechting, Jr. and Donald Fruechting. Judy’s legacy continues through son Jeffery Fruechting and his wife Sara of Toad Suck, AR, and their children: grandson Jeremy and Kaitlin Fruechting of Harlem, GA, and their children Benjamin, Emma, and Katherine Fruechting; granddaughter Leah and Josh Golden of Durham, NC; grandson Jacob and Dakota Fruechting of Russellville, AR, and their children Jack and Nora; granddaughter Rebekah Fruechting of Cary, NC; and grandson Steven Hsieh of Conway, AR. She is also survived by daughter Carla Robison and her husband Bill of Siloam Springs, AR, and their children Heidi and Kyle Nunneley of McCloud, OK, and their children Kate and Ethan; Emily and Jeff Jacobi, and their children Lillian, Annabeth, Solomon, and Nathaniel of Sand Springs, OK; and Johnathan and Shannon Robison, along with their daughter, Izola of Elkridge, MD; Jackson Harris and Calvin Banarez of Siloam Springs, AR. Also carrying on her legacy are son Phillip Fruechting of Little Rock, AR; daughter Dr. Elsie Morris and her husband Jeff of Grove, OK, grandson Justin and wife Brittany Tye, and their children Kylie Tye, Avah, Taten, and Kylan Brannon of Westville, OK; granddaughters Rachel Tye of Tulsa, OK and Tandra Morris of Tulsa, OK. Her family further includes daughter Julia Bolding and her husband Robert of Muskogee, OK, and their children, granddaughters Hannah and Luke Barnes and their son Samuel of Newalla, OK; Laurel Bolding and Riley Dotson of Bethany, OK; Natalie Bolding of Newalla, OK; and grandson Joel Bolding of Newalla, OK. Last but not least, Judy is survived by daughter Jill Foley and her husband Randy of Gore, OK, and their children granddaughters Payton, Paris, and grandson Preston Foley, all of Gore, OK. Also surviving are: her sister Janet Loffer of Owasso, OK; sister-in-law Ida Strain of Tulsa, OK; brother JD and wife Pat Strain of Buffalo, KS; brother Joe and wife Enid Strain of Tulsa, OK; brothers-in-law Jerry Fruechting and Freddie Fruechting of Owasso, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
