'OBITUARY FOR LELA DIXON Lela Mae Dixon was born March 29, 1928, in Oilton, Oklahoma, to John Luther and Beulah Vida Pounds Casey. She died Friday, June 23, 2017, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 89 years. Lela was reared and educated in Oilton and graduated with the Oilton High School Class of 1945. She continued her education attending Draughon School of Business. Lela was married December 12, 1948, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, to Royal Leonard Dixon. She worked a short time with Sears and Roebuck, but primarily was a homemaker and cared for her family. She and Royal had made their home in Owasso since 2002. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes, especially fishing, particularly for sand bass, crappie, and catfish, at Grand Lake. She was an avid sports fan of the Chicago Bulls during the Michael Jordan era and then of the Oklahoma City Thunder. She was also a fan of the Oklahoma Sooners. Those she leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include:Her daughter; Anna Anderson and husband Bruce, of OwassoTwo grandsons; Colby Dixon, of Tulsa, and Evan Anderson and fiancÃƒÂ©e Haley Stevens, of OwassoGranddaughter; Abigail DixonTwo brothers; Johnny Casey, and wife Beverly, of Mannford, Oklahoma, and Lonnie Caseyand wife Lillian, of Oilton, OklahomaDaughter-in-law; Kim Dixon, of Wichita, KansasShe was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Royal Dixon, two sons, Bill Dixon and Lynn Dixon, three sisters, Katherine Endicott, Irene Nesbitt, and Veda Laipple, and two brothers, Clifford Dixon and Winford Dixon. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Chaplain Steve Holestine officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Evan Anderson, Bruce Anderson, Colby Dixon, Lonnie Casey, Johnnie Casey, and Patrick Cochran. Committal service and interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 6218 South Lewis Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74136.
