Margaret Christine "Chris" Jost

Margaret Christine “Chris” Jost was born February 3, 1950, in Dunklin County, Missouri, to jack David “JD” Collier and Opal Imogene Becker Collier. She died Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 75 years. Chris was an important part of a family that had few material comforts, but was filled with much love. She learned a strong work ethic early in life working in the fields picking and chopping cotton, along with other physical labor. Her family always had a large garden where most of the family food was raised and canned. Chris’s family were hard workers and on many occasions would work 10-hour days in the fields. She was a resourceful young woman and made the decision to start working as a waitress at various cafes and restaurants. Life eventually led Chris to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she worked several jobs before beginning her 24-year career as a glass packer with Ford Glass. It was here Chris met the love of her life, Jerry Jost, and they were married June 19, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She frequently commented how well Jerry treated her and loved her, and how much she loved him. Chris was a strong woman of faith and attended Friendship Baptist Church in Owasso. She dearly loved her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as “Grandma”, “Memaw”, and “Gigi”. Those she leaves behind who hold a lifetime of cherished memories include: Husband; Jerry Daughter; Shelly Christine Beekman Stepchildren; Sherri Fisher and husband Ken Steve Jost and wife Rebekah Grandchildren; Samantha Christine Shields (Ashean) Blake and Monica Fisher Tyler Fisher, Zachry Fisher, Kaden Fisher, McKayla Fisher, Emily Fisher, Sofia Jost Great grandchildren; Ashean “AJ” Shields and Karson Shields Brothers; George Collier and wife Ann Thomas Collier and wife Patricia She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Opal Collier, sisters, Joyce Collier and Deloris Ann Collier, and grandson, Joshua Dean Forgione. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Linzy Slayden officiating. There will be an open casket visitation one hour prior to the service. Serving as casket bearers will be Steve Jost, Blake Fisher, Nicklaus Fisher, Zackry Fisher, Tyler Fisher, and Kaden Fisher. Committal service and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso.
