Marjorie Bell Sherin

Marjorie Bell Sherin was born April 21, 1930, in Weleetka, Oklahoma, to James Albert and Eva Mae Waren Wells. She died Sunday, May 6, 2018, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years. Marjorie lived in Oklahoma until the age of 10 when her family moved to Colorado. She loved the outdoors and always found good in life’s circumstances. She completed her education and graduated from high school in Buena Vista, Colorado, in 1948. Marge was married to the love of her life, James E. Sherin, June 16, 1948. Marge and Jim (Larry as he was also known as) lived in various places in Colorado settling in Craig, Colorado, in 1976 where she retired as an elementary teacher’s aide in the schools. They lived there until her husband passed away in 1997 at which time she moved back to Oklahoma, first to Vinita, Oklahoma, close to her sister Marcella (Pill) and then to Collinsville at the St. Teresa of Avila Villa. Being a homemaker and caring for her family brought her great joy. Photography was her hobby, and taking pictures at any and all family gatherings she attended was what she became known for. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ft. Collins, Colorado, Calvary Baptist Church in Craig, Colorado, First Baptist Church of Vinita, Oklahoma, and First Baptist Church of Collinsville, Oklahoma. Marge was a devoted wife, mother, and Granny Bell. Those she leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include: Two sons; Pat Sherin and wife Debra, of Greeley, Colorado Ken Sherin and wife Vicki, of Owasso, Oklahoma Four grandchildren; Jerimy Sherin and wife Kristen, of Stillwater, Oklahoma James Sherin, of Tulsa, Oklahoma Daymon Sherin, of Tulsa, Oklahoma Dustin Sherin and wife Tara, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Four great grandchildren; Delainie and Lillian Sherin, of Stillwater, Oklahoma Oliver and Georgia Sherin, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Sister; Marcella “Pill” McKnight, of Langley, Oklahoma She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Jim Wells. A private family gathering was held to honor her wishes. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Marge’s memory to Season’s Hospice of Tulsa.
