Norma L. Belveal

' Norma Lee Belveal, longtime resident of Owasso, passed from this life on Wednesday evening, February 4, 2015, at the age of 79 years. Norma was born December 22, 1935, in Hominy, Oklahoma, to Frank and Elsie Faye (Cole) Wood. She was raised and received her education in both Hominy and Drumright, Oklahoma, graduating from Drumright High School. On June 11, 1954, Norma and Delbert L Belveal were united in marriage in Tulsa. They made their home there until moving to Owasso in 1969. Norma, although primarily a homemaker, worked for several years as a seamstress for Cameron Corporation. She had a strong Christian faith, and had been a member of the â€œWomen of the Mooseâ€ and the Eastern Star. Norma had a variety of pastimes including fishing, dancing, cooking and gardening; but most important to her was spending time with family. Her husband Delbert preceded her in death on June 13, 2000. Norma was full of grace, wisdom, style and strength. She was a devoted, loving, trusting wife as well as the most forgiving, selfless and affectionate mother and even more a dependable, thoughtful and loyal friend. Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include her children: Keyna Kirschner and husband Scott of Owasso, Karrie Rose of Owasso, and Kyla Ballard and husband Chuck of Sapulpa; sister Ruth Thompson and husband Harvey of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; and sister in law Evelyn Kay Holt of Owasso. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Toia Dungan, Mark Kirschner, Teddy Johnson, Ike Calico, Cambry Shields, Calvin Creason, Courtlynn Clark, Shelby Kirschner and Brett Rose; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Norma was preceded in death by her parents; in laws Ike and Virgie Belveal; daughter Kellie Flanagan; sister Betty Riley and husband Sheryl; brother Jim Wood; and grandchild Shawn Johnson. Visitation will be Friday, February 6, 2015, at Mowery Funeral Service from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015, in the Chapel of Mowery Funeral Service with Bishop Q.L. Bell of Hospice Advantage officiating. Burial will follow in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy, OK.
