Rada Ann Higgins

Rada Ann Higgins was born September 28, 1930, in Coweta, Oklahoma, to William D. Ingram and Julia Mitchell Ingram. She died Thursday, July 16, 2026, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the age of 95 years. Rada completed her secondary education in Coweta and graduated from Coweta High School. She was married April 25, 1949, in Coweta to Charles Lee Higgins. She spent much of working life as homemaker and caring for her family. Rada was a strong woman of faith having studied the Bethel Bible series for two years, memorizing hundreds of scriptures that she remembered the rest of her life. She was a longtime member of East Tulsa Christian Church, Nowata Christian Church, and Church of the Lakes, Ketchum, Oklahoma. She never missed a Sunday or Wednesday night, or anytime the church doors were open. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren have continued her love for Jesus, and it is evident through their lives. Rada loved her brothers and sisters. She would invite them to the lake and they would stay for days, cooking and playing games all day long. Having been raised during the Great Depression, Rada became an avid gardener and canned constantly to always have food prepared. After she moved to the lake, she started a small food stand, which turned into making hundreds of pies the became an amazing business. Judges, restaurant owners, attorneys, and many more could not resist her pies and banana nut bread. Eventually, she had a business card made and people would start placing their weekend orders days in advance. Rada met every client with her amazing personality, and everyone fell in love with her. Her tips even grew higher than the actual price of the pies themselves. She became known as the pie lady and was known throughout the Grand Lake and Tulsa areas. Those she leaves behind who hold a lifetime of memories include: Children; Duane Higgins, wife Linda Jana Cooley Grandchildren; Cari (Summers) Aberle and husband Alan Matthew Summers and wife Janice James Summers and wife Lydia Daniel Summers and wife Tasha Charles Higgins and wife Robin Luke Higgins and wife Anne Nathan Higgins and wife Leigh Chase Cooley Cassidy Cooley Twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; Sister; Joyce Pulliman And a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Julia Ingram, husband, Charles Lee Higgins, daughter Vicki (Higgins) Summers, son-in-law Tom Summers, and ten brothers and sisters.
