Robert William James Holestine

' Robert William James Holestine was born September 16, 1938, in Visalia, California, to Lawson Robert and Irene Pearl Ragsdale Holestine. He died Thursday, December 1, 2016, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years. Bob completed his secondary education in Marshfield, Missouri, and graduated with the Marshfield High School Class of 1956. He was an outstanding student in FFA active in leadership, as well as parliamentary procedure, and earned his State Farmer Degree as a junior. He married the love of his life December 22, 1957, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Carole Alivia Abel. Bob spent much of his working life as a data processing supervisor in the aerospace, hydraulics and insurance industries. He was a longtime faithful member and volunteer of First Church in Owasso. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes, but most revolved around his family, church, ball games, and community. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their sporting events, as well as their singing and acting. He had been active with Owasso sports since 1971, coaching Future Owasso Rams and attended any sporting event he could. He loved the University of Tulsa and had been attending games since 1961. In the past few years, he has enjoyed attending and volunteering at the Owasso Community Center. He loved his family and people. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 29, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. Ã¢â‚¬â€œ 7:00 p.m. at Mowery Funeral Service, Owasso. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2016, at First Church in Owasso with Pastor Steve Holestine officiating. Private family disposition will be held at a later date.
