Ruth Ladema Spickelmier

Ruth Ladema Spickelmier was born July 10, 1932, in Collinsville, Oklahoma, to John Noel Pavey and Minnie Bell Cumley Pavey. She died Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 93 years. Ruth completed her secondary education in Owasso, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1950. She was Salutatorian of her class and was also drum majorette for the Pride of Owasso band. Ruth was married March 5, 1954, in Owasso to Earl Gene Spickelmier. Ruth spent much of her professional career in the banking industry with First Bank of Owasso and 4th National Bank of Tulsa. She later worked as an executive secretary with American Airlines. Ruth was a strong woman of faith and was a longtime member of Owasso First Baptist Church where she had served as Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes, including bowling with her friends, even traveling to WIBC tournaments. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii, and going on cruises. Ruth loved to spend time shopping. She will be dearly missed by her loving family who hold a lifetime of cherished memories: Daughter; Lori Wilson and husband Ronnie Grandchildren; Trevor Wilson and wife Kirsten and their daughter Lillian Grace Favorite niece; Rhonda Duke and husband Dan, and their son Matthew Duke Favorite nephew; Mark Cavins and wife Carolyn, their children, Kyle Cavins, and Katie Basks and her husband Joe, and children, Beau and Bree Basks Sister-in-law; Stella Witt, and her children Susie, Bruce, Stan, and Sandy She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Minnie Pavey, husband Earl Spickelmier, and sisters, Hazel Shell, and Lucille “Lou: Cavins. Visitation will be held from noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2026, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Chris Wall officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Kyle Cavins, Terry Prentice, Trevor Wilson, Matthew Duke, Steve Cole, and Rob Rizzo. Committal service and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso.
