Vera Kay Weant

Vera Kay Weant was born August 25, 1942, in Skiatook, Oklahoma, to Raymond Lee Shultz and Lois Inez Grammer Shultz. She died Saturday, February 21, 2026, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years. Vera began her education in Skiatook before moving to Owasso where she completed her secondary education and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1960. Vera was married June 24, 1961, in Owasso to Arthur Weant. She spent over 20 years of her working life as a dessert and bread cook with Owasso Public Schools. Vera was a strong woman of faith and was a longtime member of the Owasso First Assembly of God. She served in various positions with the church including over 30 years teaching 2 and 3 year olds as well as superintendent. She also served as a Vacation Bible School Director and a leader with the Missionettes. Vera enjoyed a variety of pastimes such as cooking and sewing. She also enjoyed attending Reuben’s activities and his Special Olympics. She cooked for the Spirit Camp and was known as one of the “Flakes”. Vera leaves a lifetime of memories with her family whom she dearly loved including: Her husband of over 64 years; Arthur Children; Darla Neighbors and husband Matt Autumn Linihan and husband Mike Reuben Weant Grandchildren; Ryan Neighbors and wife Kim Tyler Neighbors and wife Nicole Ethan Linihan Isaac Linihan Great grandchildren; Ameilia and Elliott Neighbors Skylar, Anni, Titus, and Ruby Neighbors Sisters; Terri Qualls and Debbie Dunaway She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lois Shultz, sister, Jean Nidiffer, and brother, Bob Shultz. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Owasso First Assembly of God with Pastor Tyler Neighbors and Pastor Brad Spurlock officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Matt Neighbors, Mike Linihan, Ryan Neighbors, Tyler Neighbors, Tony Klahr, and Brad Spurlock. Final resting place will be at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso.
