Wayne Loyd Seratt

Wayne Loyd Seratt, 82, of Owasso, Oklahoma passed from this earth, into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Good-Friday, April 7, 2023. Wayne was born July 17, 1940 in Burnet, Texas to Reverend James and Effie Seratt. At the age of 7-years old, Wayne gave his life to Jesus Christ. He spent the remainder of his life following the teachings of His Word. He was an active member at Oologah Assembly of God, a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He never hesitated to pray with someone and led countless souls to faith in God. Wayne married Betty Horner, his wife of 50 years, on September 19, 1958. He was proud of their love story. Wayne was 13 and Betty 12 years old, when they met at church. Once married, Wayne lead and served Betty and their children faithfully. They raised their children in Peoria, Arizona and in 1976 moved to Oologah, Oklahoma. He provided a wonderful life to his children and his highest priority was pointing his family to Jesus Christ. Wayne enjoyed his work and was skilled in the construction industry. He was in the Operating Engineers Union for 44 years and cared deeply about those he worked with. He retired from APAC, but never truly left construction behind. He spent his retirement years on building projects, working in his garden, raising farm animals and spending time with his family. He enjoyed studying his Bible, cooking, fishing and always looked-forward to family get-togethers, holidays, and celebrations. He even had a special Birthday song he would sing to those he loved. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife; Betty (Horner) Seratt, daughter; Diana Seratt, parents; Reverend James & Effie Seratt, grandson; Levi Seratt, brothers; Earl, Willard (WC), Kenny and Jerry Seratt. Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 12 years, Connie (Goff) Seratt of Owasso. Daughter; Waynette and her husband George of Owasso. Son; Larry and his wife Carie of Phoenix. Bonus Daughter’s; Micah and husband John of Broken Arrow and Kara of Tulsa. Sister’s Wanda and husband Dale of Richland WA, Pat and husband Dwight of Missoula MT. Grandchildren; Brandy and husband Daniel, Benjamin Wayne and wife Stacy, Leah and husband Derik, Zachariah and wife Beth, Elizabeth and husband Joseph, James Wayne and wife Rachel, Caroline, Claire, Jessica, Stevie and husband Adam. Great-Grandchildren; Dylan, Brianna, Quinton, Samuel Wayne, Hope, Jasmyn, Caroline, Myra, Simon, Isaiah, Ava, CK, MK, BK, Abigail and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to the staff at Oxford Glenn in Owasso for their care and compassion. Visitation will be Monday, April 10 from 5:00-8:00pm at Mowery’s Funeral Services. Son and Pastor Larry Seratt will be officiating the service at Mowery’s Funeral Services on Tuesday, April 11 at 2:00pm. Your love will be with us as the family has a private burial at Graceland Cemetery in Owasso following the service. No words can describe how much he will be missed. His legacy will live on in the lives of those he loved.
