William "Biff" Boyd Huckaby Jr.

His given name was William Boyd Huckaby Jr., but for everyone that really knew and loved him, he was Biff. Biff entered the world through the loving parents of William and Patricia Huckaby on August 20th, 1957, in Fort Polk, Louisiana. Biff spent his childhood as a proud army brat, moving with his family between army bases in Kentucky, Germany, and Kansas before the family retired to Shepherdsville, Kentucky. From the very beginning, Biff was always on the move with reckless abandon. If there was anyone with nine lives, it would be Biff. From riding his tricycle off a cliff, getting ran over by a truck, and jumping off roofs - everything he did was big and bold. At an early age, Biff started working at a rock quarry and ended up making that not only his profession, but his life’s passion. Starting as a grunt worker in 1980 at a small quarry in Kentucky, the profession took him to several stops throughout Kentucky, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Throughout his 25 years with APAC Central, Biff held multiple management positions, ending as Operations Manager for the leading aggregate producer in America. From his years of experience, Biff came to be described as a walking encyclopedia, taking that acquired knowledge to mentor several others within the profession. So consumed with his work, Biff actually went on to meet Sondra Hooper at a quarry scale house, who would become his wife of 27 years. Biff and Sondra raised two wonderful daughters together, Cami and Kaycie. As the girls were growing up, Biff would make it a priority to spend quality time with them – breakfast dates at daycare drop-off, on to Sunday breakfast dates when the girls started school; taking a week off every Summer to spend some of the school break together; to spending every Saturday out on Skiatook Lake with Sondra, the girls, and the girls’ friends. Biff was the backbone of the Huckaby Family, always there to offer strength no matter the stage of life. After losing Sondra to breast cancer, Biff would, once again, through his work with the quarry, meet Warren CAT dispatcher, Bobbi Gambill, who he would go on to marry and spend the last 8.5 years of his life with. Whenever he wasn’t working, the two were never stationary for long. Biff and Bobbi would spend nights out and take several trips creating cherished memories together. Biff could be described as sarcastic, direct, and bull-headed; but above anything else he was selfless. Biff did not know how to give less than 100%. He was unbelievably generous with his time and money, and he approached every aspect of life – friendships, working, and most importantly, family – by giving his entire heart. Those he leaves behind, who will forever hold cherished memories, include wife, Bobbi Huckaby; daughter and son-in-law, Kaycie and Austin Huckaby-Reynolds; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Roger Patterson; brother and sister-in-law, Jimi and Sherri Huckaby; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Denise Huckaby; stepson, Doug Gambill; and a slew of other relatives and his APAC family. Biff was preceded in death by his daughter, Cami Huckaby; wife, Sondra Huckaby; and parents, William Sr. and Patricia Huckaby. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 11th, at 11am at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Reverend Bob Haywood officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date at Green Acres Memorial Gardens in rural Owasso.
