Mary Ruth Nachtigall

'Mary Ruth Nachtigall was born March 4, 1924, in Hooker, Oklahoma, to Abraham Frantz and Sarah (Cornelson) Fast. She died Sunday, June 7, 2015, in Collinsville, Oklahoma, at the age of 91 years. Mary was reared and educated at Adams, Oklahoma, and was a graduated of Adams High School. She was married September 14, 1941, at Adams to Alvin Nachtigall. They had made their home in Collinsville since 1946. Ruth began working with her husband by helping on their farm. In the mid 1950â€™s she worked at the local Tastee Freez. From 1960-1969 she worked at the Collinsville News where she worked in the office and wrote may articles. In 1969, she purchased a franchise with H & R Block where she worked as a tax accountant until her retirement in 1986. Ruth and Alvin were longtime faithful members of Westport Mennonite Brethren Church, now Discovery Bible Fellowship. She served in several capacities teaching Sunday School, Bible school, and youth leadership. She was very talented and could play most musical instruments, especially the piano. As a farmerâ€™s wife, she was certainly an excellent cook and seamstress.Loving family members include:Her children; Sari Johnson and husband, Harold, of Collinsville Tharyn Nachtigall and wife Marsha, of Collinsville Rhea Ann Smith and husband TerryFive grandchildren; Wade Nachtigall and wife Shelley Kendra Cremin and husband Jon Shonda Johnson and husband Clay Jennifer Reich and husband Brian Nathan Smith and wife Delana13 great grandchildren; Micah, Adlei, Lucas, Sophia, Quinlin, Collier, William, Kylie, Jack, Adie, Zach, Whitney, and Hannah RuthOne great great granddaughter; Jessie RuthShe was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alvin, and four brothers, Willie Fast, Clarence Fast, Victor Fast, and Kenneth Fast. Funeral services will be held 1:30 Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Discovery Bible Fellowship in Collinsville with Pastor Mike Frantz officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Larry Wiens, Stan Vogt, Wade Nachtigall, Clay Thompson, Brian Reich, and Glenn Krispense. Committal service and interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.
