February 19, 1951 - April 6, 2021
Rhonda Gwynn Killian, of Owasso, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 6, 2021 peacefully in her sleep at home. A private ceremony celebrating her life will be held with immediate family. Rhonda was born to Alton Leon Goodin and Edna Marie (Jordan) Goodin, on February 19, 1951 in Amarillo, Texas. Rhonda was raised in Claude, Texas, and graduated Salutatorian of Claude High School Class of 1969. After high school, she attended Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She spent most of her 43 year career as a Registered BSN with the Hillcrest Hospital Network, and spent the last 20 years at Claremore Regional Hospital as the Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery, helping to deliver thousands of babies and mentoring many nurses throughout her career. Rhonda was an avid gardener in her spare time and prided herself on having the finest lawn in her neighborhood. She also went all out for holiday decorating and was a favorite stop for trick or treaters and a welcoming host for Christmas celebrations. Her favorite form of vacation was via cruise ship with trips to Alaska, the Panama Canal, Baltic Sea, and Roatan, to name a few. Later in life, she was devoted to her two grandchildren and enjoyed sleepovers, gardening lessons, and attending every sporting event, assembly, and concert that they participated in. Rhonda was a Schnauzer mom beyond compare and loved numerous dogs throughout her life. Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her cherished life partner of more than 40 years, Karen Garrett; two children: Lee Killian (Sabrina) of Kansas City, Kansas and Tamika Crissup (Jake) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Magnolia and Jonah Crissup of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters, Debi Blackwell (Dan) of Divide, Colorado and Sandra Meek of Dallas, Texas; niece and nephews, Jordan Reiley (Landon), Mason Meek and Opie Blackwell (Jason); and great-niece Adrienne Blackwell. She will also be greatly missed by her four-legged “children”, Zoey and Lexie. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Rhonda’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Heart Association, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
