WILLIAM GERALD HENRY & DIANNA WHITMORE HENRY William aka “Bill” aka “Jerry” was born April 24, 1942 in Matoon, Illinois to Clarence and Evelyn Henry. He passed away January 27, 2020. Bill graduated from Bosse High School in Evansville, IN in 1960. He served honorably in the United States Navy until 1965. He married Dianna on December 11, 1963 in Carmi, Illinois. He went to college, worked as a Crew Chief at American Airlines until he retired, and was also a scuba-diver instructor. Bill wasn’t short on any activities, he was a 32nd degree Mason of the Masonic Lodge, Knights of Templar, Scottish Rites, Akdar Shrine, Order of the Eastern Star, United Kennel Club, American Kennel Club, and the International Arabian Horse Association. Bill was an avid stamp collector, a German memorabilia collector, had quite the collection of paintings, nutcrackers, steins, he enjoyed reading books, cross-stitch, showing his dogs, traveling, gold jewelry on every finger, manicures, quick-draw shooting competitions, and was still working to make his perfect saltwater aquarium exactly the way he wanted it. He was a socialite; he never met a stranger and never missed a chance to go anywhere. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Evelyn Henry, and wife Dianna Henry. Dianna was born on June 21, 1943 in Henderson County. Kentucky to William and Naomi Whitmore. She passed June 25, 2015. Dianna graduated from Henderson County High School in 1961. She went to Lockyear’s Business College to be an Executive Secretary and graduated in 1962. She worked at Cox and Associates in Tulsa until she retired. Dianna and Bill married on December 11, 1963 and had two children, LeighAnn and Stacy. They lived in Collinsville, Oklahoma for 43 years and moved to Corydon, Kentucky until Dianna passes away in 2015. Bill moved back to Owasso, Oklahoma. Dianna was involved in the Order of the Eastern Star for 45 years, she was a Daughter of the American Revolution, the International Arabian Horse Association and Precious Moments. Dianna loved her family, she loved her grandkids, she never missed a ball game (she even had her own score book), she enjoyed collecting Precious Moments, roses, showing horses, traveling, and gold jewelry. She had a laugh you’d never forget. Dianna was preceded in death by her sister Hattie Ethel Harmon and husband Samuel, brother Joe Whitmore and wife Joann, and parents William Stanley Whitmore and Naomi Poole Faulkner Whitmore. Children: LeighAnn Hubbard and husband Jeff of Collinsville, Oklahoma Stacy Sweet and husband Bill of Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea Grandchildren: D Lacy Hubbard and fiance’ Gene Cunningham of Tulsa, Oklahoma; J.C. Hubbard of Owasso, Oklahoma; Tricia Curtis and husband Corey of Owasso, Oklahoma; Casey Sweet and partner Jered Cawdell of Brisbane, Australia; Myranda Sweet of Brisbane, Australia; Mitchell Sweet of Kentucky. Great Grandchildren: Jenisen Cunningham, Tate Cunningham, & Cody Cunningham of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Lindlee Hubbard of Owasso, Oklahoma; Haleigh Curtis of Owasso, Oklahoma. Siblings of Bill: Richard “Dick” Henry and wife Brenda of Illinois; Marsha Engle of California. Siblings of Dianna: Hattie Ethel Harmon and husband Samuel of Kentucky; Joe Whitmore and wife JoAnn of Kentucky. Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2020, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Ryan Honeycutt officiating.
