William James King

March 25, 1947 - August 18, 2020

William James King was born March 25, 1947, in Queens, New York, to William Burdick King and Frances Lee Walsh. He died Tuesday, August 18, 2020, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, at the age of 73 years. Jim completed his secondary education in Melville, New York, and graduated with the Half Hollow Hills High School Class of 1965. He attended Southwestern University in Chula Vista, California, where he earned his associate’s degree as an electronics technician. He later attended Tulsa Junior College in Tulsa, Oklahoma, earning as associate’s degree in electrical engineering. Jim was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Navy and the United States Coast Guard for over 21 years. He proudly served as a Vietnam Veteran. He later worked as an electronic customer service engineer with MACCOR, Inc. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including hunting and traveling, and just sight seeing or going to new places. He especially enjoyed spending time with old friends. Jim particularly enjoyed his role of “Papa” to his grandchildren. Those he leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include: His wife; Connie, of the home Son; Brian King and wife Stacy, of Tulsa, Oklahoma Daughter; Kelley Nave and husband Andy, of Owasso, Oklahoma Four grandchildren; Colton King and Keagen King, of Tulsa, Oklahoma Kaden Nave and Dayson Nave, of Owasso Two brothers; Robert King, of Dover, Delaware Gerard King, of Ogden, Utah He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Justine King and his wife, Barbara Ann King. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2020, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Trey Harper officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Ward-Wiseman Animal Haven, 15628 North 129th East Avenue, Collinsville, Oklahoma, 74021, or Skiatook Christian Church, 1550 West Oak Street, Skiatook, Oklahoma, 74070.
