Carla Stephanie Preston

Carla Stephanie Preston was born on March 27, 1975, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her father, Larry Allen Johnson and mother, Cecelia “Vicky” Johnson, both loved her dearly. Carla passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, in Miramar Beach, Florida, at the age of 49 years. Carla graduated from Owasso High School in 1993, and continued her education at the University of Phoenix, earning her Bachelors of Science degree in business management and business administration, and completed her studies at Oklahoma State University earning her Masters degree in business administration. Carla worked professionally in the banking and payment card industry, earning many different job titles over the course of her career with several financial institutions including First Data, NextCard, First National Bank of Omaha, FNCCC, SunTrust Bank, and most recently Truist Bank. In addition to her educational and professional achievements, Carla brought joy to her family and community. Carla enjoyed a variety of pastimes including exploring national parks, traveling, crafting, fishing, and bringing people together through good food and social events. Carla was an incredible cook, who participated in lasagna love, feeding families in need. She also loved giving back to her community by participating in CASA, fostering children in need, and being the social director and treasurer of her local pickleball club all at various points in her life. Carla adored spending time with her family and loved her daughters more than anything in the world. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Carla leaves behind many who hold cherished memories including, her husband Lance Preston; her daughters, Julia Lauren VanBerschot and Maggie Anne Preston; stepdaughter, Sydney Marie Preston; granddaughter, Mercy Reign Burleson; younger sister, Haley Ann Drusen; father, Larry Johnson; nieces Kristi Goff and Jessica Sidener, and aunt Cindy Schockemoehl, as well as numerous nephews and nieces, cousins and dear friends. Carla was preceded in death by her younger sister, Cynthia Johnson-Goff, and her mother, Cecelia “Vicky” Johnson. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso.
