David C. McIntire

David C. McIntire was born January 12, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Ernest Murry McIntire, Jr., and Deretha Wheatley McIntire. He died Saturday, July 11, 2020, in Tulsa at the age of 71 years. David was reared and educated in Owasso, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1967. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His service decorations and commendations included the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star, Air Medal, two Overseas Service Bars, one Service Stripe, Expert Badge (M-16), Sharpshooter Badge (M-14), and Purple Heart. He was married May 6, 1973, in Albany, Missouri, to Cheryl McCoy. He spent much of his working life as a console operator in the concrete industry. David enjoyed a variety of pastimes including his love for motorcycle riding, particularly on his Gold Wing. He especially enjoyed his role as “Papa”. Those he leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include: His wife; Cheri, of the home Children; Robin Patterson and husband Thomas, of Claremore, Oklahoma Tracy Miller and husband Cory, of Sperry, Oklahoma James McIntire and wife Angie, of Collinsville, Oklahoma Grandchildren; Jordyn Miller, Aaden Miller, Ashlie Bunch-Clark, Maddie Bunch, Brianna McIntire, Abbie McIntire, Bella McIntire, Nicole Boggs, And Heather Patterson Great grandson; Niko Clark Mother; Deretha McIntire Nieces; Suzie Williamson and husband Chris Donna Hubbard Nephew; Michael Zweiacher and wife Jamie He was preceded in death by his father, Ernie McIntire, and sister, Angela Zweiacher-Pilgrim. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2020, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. www.moweryfs.com
