Leroy Albert Carey

'Leroy Albert Carey was born June 1, 1949, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, to Albert J. and Florence (Pawlowski) Carey. He died Sunday, February 14, 2016, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 66 years. Leroy was reared and educated in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was a graduate of Nathan Hale High School. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Leroy spent most of his working life as an entrepreneur operating his own businesses. He was primarily known as the owner of the Daylight Donut shop at German Corner between Owasso and Collinsville. Leroy enjoyed a variety of pastimes including fishing, hunting, and fishing some more. He also enjoyed working Sudoku puzzles and going to the casino. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 18, 2016, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Collinsville with Father Richard Cristler officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Sandridge Cemetery in rural Collinsville.
