Mamie Earlene Congleton

Mamie Earlene (Cooper) Congleton was born September 13, 1943, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Earl William Cooper and Virginia Christine (Thomas) Cooper. She passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 surrounded by those who loved her dearly. Mamie completed her secondary education at Fremont High School in Sunnyvale, California. She married William Ford Congleton (Bill) on December 13, 1968, in Carson City, Nevada and celebrated over 52 years together before his passing. She spent most of her working life taking care of the husband she adored and raising her six children. She later worked at Pixley Lumber in Claremore and Sweet Adelines International in Tulsa. She enjoyed many things including singing and playing music, studying her bible, listening to sermons, riding motorcycles with Bill and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was musically gifted and sang in various groups and quartets at school, church, and family gatherings. She was hilarious and witty, always with a quick comment or snappy comeback. Mamie was a member of Bible Church of Owasso and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and her heart’s desire was to see her loved ones and friends follow Him too. She was kind, caring, funny, faithful, godly and a wonderful example of Christ’s love that will be greatly missed by all. Those she leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include: Children; Marco Placencia, Jill Sowells, Deanna Barnes and husband Frank, William Congleton II and wife Shirley, David Congleton and wife Nancy, and John Congleton and wife Lisa Grandchildren; Rachel McKinnis and husband Mitch, Brynnan Sowells, William Congleton III, Cara Stowe and husband Zech, Isaac Congleton, Nathan Congleton, Franky Congleton, Sarah Placencia, and Nicholas Placencia Great grandchildren; Owen McKinnis, Landon Santillan, Abigail McKinnis, Mason Santillan, Elliott McKinnis, Addison Santillan, Porter Stowe, and Colton Stowe Siblings; Doris Wagner, Earl Cooper, Troy Cooper and wife Patty, Dawn Goumaz and husband Robert, Kathy Neill, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepdad Donald Townsend and grandson, William Santillan. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on July 30, 2026 at Bible Church of Owasso with Pastor Ted Johnson officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be William Congleton III, Isaac Congleton, Nathan Congleton, Nicholas Placencia, Zech Stowe, and Shane Barnes. Final resting place will be Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Bible Church of Owasso, 201 North Main, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
