Norma Jo Summers

Norma Jo (Boone) Summers was born on January 21, 1937 in Moore, Oklahoma, to Edwin and Mildred Toombs Boone. She passed away May 6, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 89 years. Norma spent several years moving to various states, as her father worked in the oil and gas industry. The family settled in Chickasha, Oklahoma where she attended and graduated Chickasha High School. After high school, Norma attended Oklahoma State University where she met the “love of her life,” Archie Summers. Norma and Archie married in 1957. They lived in several locations in Texas and California, relocating with Archie’s career. Norma and Archie raised two sons, Jeff and Rob, who gave them a total of four beautiful granddaughters and now four great grandchildren. Norma was a “Super Mom” spending time getting the boys to sports events, etc. Norma was always involved in the community. While she lived in California, she became an accomplished tennis player and bridge player. She loved California and spent a lot of time by the pool entertaining and swimming. She was always a virtuous woman spending considerable time with her church family and attending in-depth Bible studies. Archie’s career brought them back to Oklahoma where he eventually retired. In retirement, Norma and Archie decided to go full-time and traveled in their RV. They spent many years traveling and making lifelong friends and enjoyed visiting many of our Nation’s National Parks and beautiful locations. Years later, they settled down in Owasso, Oklahoma near family and friends. Due to the cold winters in Oklahoma and their love of the Desert Southwest, Norma and Archie purchased a home in beautiful Fountain Hills, Arizona. Norma loved Arizona and again enjoyed many friendships and faith-filled relationships. Eight years ago, Norma and Archie returned to Owasso to be near family for health reasons and Archie passed in 2017. Norma eventually moved into Homestead where she enjoyed an independent lifestyle, loving the social aspects including bingo, horse races, chickenfoot, and making new friendships along the way. Norma lived a blessed life of faith, family, friends, and travel – she enjoyed a life well lived. She is survived by: Her Children; Robert Summers and wife, Gina Jeff Summers and wife, Trisha Grandchildren; Kayli Bryanna Taylor Brittney Great Grandchildren; Dawson, Felix, Vivian, and Kai. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Mildred Boone; and her husband, Robert “Archie.” Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. www.moweryfs.com
