Robert "Bob" Eugene Dempster

Robert “Bob” Dempster, a devoted husband, dad, and grandpa, passed away April 17, 2026, at the age of 73, in Edmond, Oklahoma, surrounded by his family. He was born September 18, 1952, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Bob and Deloris (Silkey) Dempster. Bob was married to his wife, Lea, for almost 57 years. Their life together was marked by commitment, stability, and a deep dedication to family. Bob grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1970. He served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. Following his service, he used the GI Bill to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. He went on to spend 34 years with Oklahoma Natural Gas, advancing through a number of roles before becoming an Accounting Manager, where he was known for his dependability and strong work ethic. In his younger days, Bob raced stock cars and played in a band. Over time, he became part of the ONG bowling team and later found great enjoyment in playing water volleyball. He had a lifelong appreciation for music and was a talented drummer. An avid fan of The Beatles, he and Lea made the trip to attend the annual Beatles Festival in Louisville, Kentucky several times. Bob especially enjoyed traveling by RV to Branson and Las Vegas, where he formed lasting friendships over the years, spending time trout fishing in Branson and playing video poker in Las Vegas. He also had a special affection for his beloved boxers, Rocky, and later Lucy, who often traveled with them. A devoted sports fan, Bob followed the Oklahoma City Thunder (“Thunder Up!”), OU football (“Boomer Sooner!”), and remained loyal to his longtime favorites, the New York Yankees, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Miami Dolphins. Bob is survived by his wife, Lea; his two sons, Brian and wife Michele of Owasso, and Brad and wife Rose of Tulsa. He was a proud grandfather to Chris; Jason and wife Andrea; and Chase Francisco and wife Luisa. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Carson, Mila, Cooper, and Evelyn. He also is survived by his brother, David and his wife Shelah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Deloris Dempster. Bob will be remembered for his steady presence, his dedication to his family, the time he valued with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, his gift for making friends easily, and the consistency with which he lived his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Chad Balthrop officiating. Final resting place will be at Floral Haven memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
