Robert Lawrence Marsellis “Rob,” a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many, passed on the 22nd of July 2024. He was born October 31, 1966, to his loving parents Lyle and Mary Ella Marsellis of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Rob was the epitome of strength and love throughout his life. Rob completed his secondary education in Hulbert, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Hulbert High School Class of 1984. He then attended Connors State College in Warner, Oklahoma, at which time he met his future wife, Annie Holder. They were married April 16, 1987, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Rob continued his education attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma State with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Animal Science. He then completed his studies with Webster University earning his Master of Business Administration in 2005. Rob spent most of his professional career as a director and operations manager. He began his professional career with Farmland Industries in Van Buren, Arkansas. He then transitioned into business and finance with Cox Communications for nearly 20 years. Finally, he served as a manager for Windstream Communications in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Professionally driven with an entrepreneurial spirit at heart, Rob poured himself into building many businesses. Rob transformed his humble beginnings into successes that provided for his family. His hard work ethic inspired those around him while earning him the respect of everyone he was able to work with. Rob’s love for Annie was nothing short of extraordinary. Their bond was an illustration of true partnership and unwavering devotion, a testament to the very essence of what it means to be one’s soulmate. He constantly admired her intelligence, faith, and unyielding strength, often expressing his gratitude for having such a remarkable partner by his side. His every action was filled with a profound love for her, and he never missed an opportunity to remind her of his affection. Their love story is a beautiful reminder of the prevailing power of unconditional love. His relationship with his father, Lyle, was marked by mutual respect and adoration. They shared a deep connection for their love of Christ and service to the Lord. Rob had a profound admiration and devotion for his two daughters, Sydney and Aubrey, embodying both strength and gentleness. He was their steadfast protector, always ready to shield and protect them from life’s adversities. His heart swelled with pride at all their achievements, he felt their sorrows, always striving to ease their burdens. His dedication was a blend of sacrifice and joy. They had an enduring bond that shaped their self-worth and their understanding of unconditional love. His daughters are his living legacy, representing the values and wisdom he had imparted to them over the years. Rob’s passion was watching Sydney and Aubrey succeed in life, including numerous hours spent throughout travel and watching volleyball. Rob was most known for his unwavering faith and strong patriotism. On April 8, 2022, he began his journey battling cancer. Even during his time of illness, he was faithful to his Lord and Savior, continuing to share the gospel with all those around him. Through his cancer journey, Rob was inspirational, leading numerous souls to Christ. He leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment to his wife of 37 years, Annie Marsellis; daughter Sydney and husband Teddy Andress, and granddaughter, Charlotte Andress, as well as his daughter, Aubrey and husband Michael Becker. Rob is also survived by his father, Lyle Marsellis and wife Lisa, siblings Cheryl and husband Aaron Wright, Kristy and husband James Snider. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ella Marsellis. Rob’s strength knew no bounds, both physically and emotionally, but it paled in comparison to the immense love he held for all those close to him. The loss felt from Rob’s passing is immeasurable, but we find solace knowing we will see him again one day. May you rest peacefully now, Daddy, and allow your memory to live on. We love you forever. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday July 26, 2024, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024, at BattleCreek Church in Owasso with Kelly Payne officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Fulton, Lake Holder, James Snider, Aaron Wright, Michael Becker and Jim Eller. The interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma.
