Shawn Wayne Horton

Shawn Wayne Horton was born on May 3, 1965, in Dallas, Texas to Donald Eugene Horton and Glenda Joyce (Miller) Horton. He passed from this life on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 59 years. Shawn was raised and educated in Mission, Texas and graduated with the Mission High School Class of 1983. He then went on to earn an associate's degree in automotive engineering from Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas. Prior to becoming an independent contractor with TBT Consulting in Tulsa, Shawn owned a salvage yard in Alamo, Texas. The beginning of Shawn’s love for ranching was owning a ranch in Edinburg, Texas as well as one in Rock Springs. He co-founded Freedom Whitetails of Oklahoma Deer Farm in Boley, Oklahoma. Shawn served as the president of the Okfuskee Control Fire Burn in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma. Shawn had many passions, such as fishing, hunting, bow hunting, and building racecars. Musically gifted, Shawn enjoyed playing several instruments and singing. Shawn maintained lifetime friendships with some of his elementary classmates, revealing his loyalty, trustworthiness, and sheer likeability. Shawn treasured his nephew, Ben, and niece, Brooke like they were his own, because Shawn’s biggest love was his family. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time around a table, eating a home-cooked meal, laughing and telling stories which were accompanied by sound effects and hand motions. His place at the table will be greatly missed, but the memories he gave us, we will cherish in our hearts forever. One thing all his friends and family would agree on is that Shawn exemplified Jesus’ description of the “Good Samaritan” in that he would do anything for anyone at any time. He is survived by: His Parents; Don and Glenda Horton Sisters; Melissa Boucher and husband Jim Heather Jenkins and husband Alan Nephew; Benjamin Boucher Niece; Brooke Boucher A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Mowery Funeral Service. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel.
